• Be concise and functional: your description should support movement or interaction, not replace personal perception.
• Be patient and respectful of their timing. Do not complete sentences for them or rush their movements.
• If help is refused, do not insist. Trust their competence.
• Visual impairment does not limit intelligence or independence. Adapt your communication, not your expectations.
• Do not be afraid of silence. If the person is exploring or touching an object, allow space for concentration. Wait for their feedback before adding details. Touch and hearing are their “eyes”.
